About Us

South Australian Catholics for an Evolving Church

Our Vision

SACEC is a God-centred community of active Church members,

inspired to help shape a more just, welcoming and,

hope-filled world for all.

Our Mission

Our mission is to follow Jesus at the heart of our lives,

welcoming all people into a Church of hope, compassion and belonging.

Inspired by Gospel values and Catholic social and environmental teaching,

we seek to build a more just inclusive and loving world,

especially alongside those on the margins.

Our Aims

  • Express the experiences, hopes and convictions of Catholics seeking renewal;
  • Promote the participation of all Catholics in Church decision-making processes;
  • Advocate, as a community of equal disciples, for women’s full participation in all ministries, services and decision-making in the Church;
  • Encourage and enable broad participation in council processes, assemblies and future initiatives;
  • Advocate for good governance through accountability, transparency and inclusion throughout the Church;
  • Identify and promote models of Church that reflect Gospel values and are suited to 21st-century Australia and a changing Church.

A grown-up, effective and accountable Church requires
mature, responsible and engaged Catholics

Our Focus

Our focus is on justice and care, integrity and compassion, relationships and respect for people.

Our communities are grounded in our love for one another.
